bergbros2
I tried to finish the game but always lost before the final gate, either by dying or running out of time. I always had to go fast at the end because the time was not long enought to go at regular speed. What happens at the end? Any fanfare? Or does it just end? Shaggy the Atarian
I didn't even know that this game has an ending. I guess that means a no for me. How can you find out if you're close to the last gate or not? I don't recall there being any level or gate indicators...
bergbros2
Read the instructions. They say that there are four CPU's to overcome to win the game. So, I assume there is an ending.
tiggerthehun
Yes, but the last gate is guarded by AtariAge's own CPU(wiz), and ain't nobody getting past him!
sku_u
Yes, but the last gate is guarded by AtariAge's own CPU(wiz), and ain't nobody getting past him! and he's protecting the only known copy of Air World behind the gate.
+Random Terrain
I finished it a few times back in the 1980s. It must not have been that great of an ending or it seems like I would have remembered something about it. I love the game though.

GrizzLee
Better yet, has anyone finished the sequel to Laser Gates..... Yes, before you scratch your heads... there was a sequel by Dan Oliver.. but not from Imagic. I leave you folks to do some research to find the game. There was a contest and a prize for finishing the sequel, but I have never heard of anyone completing it. -Lee

GrizzLee
Rescue Terra I I should've put a stipulation that kept CPUWIZ from answering RT1 is an incredible game. Hard as hell though... -Lee

It was done by Venturevision but licensed to Imagic after they went under. Tempest

If it was the other direction, I'd think the programmer got hit in the head before he made Rescue Terra I. I don't like that game and not just because the first 20 billion meteors look like upside down strawberries.

Laser Gates takes place on the planet (it was originally called Inner Space I think). There was also a third game planned that never got started.
