moycon
Am I the only one who doesn't like using a pad to play Atari games? I dunno why but my scores are considerably lower when using a pad. Maybe it's just something you have to get used to.
Mindfield
Try an Epyx 500XJ. One of my favourite sticks; very comfy and responsive.
Lost Monkey
Am I the only one who doesn't like using a pad to play Atari games? No.. but my wife would rather use the pads so I have experience with them because of her. I have the best luck with the original CX-40's. SteveW
You can also use a Sega joypad extension cable with an Atari joystick so you don't have to sit so close to the TV.

I do use a Genesis Arcade stick quite often though.

Yes, and unlike many 2600 joystick cables, the Sega extension cable will also work with paddles and driving controllers.
Tsukasa
Try an Epyx 500XJ. One of my favourite sticks; very comfy and responsive. I've got one of those. It has to be my favorite controller for anything I can plug it into. It came with my C64 I bought off of ebay.

I had one back in the early 90s and my ST days. Used it so much I ended up breaking the latch off of one of the microswitches so it had a hard time going in one direction. Never did get a suitable replacement. I did get one again a few months back, though, and it's still a great stick.
Tsukasa
Damn..... you must have played hard with it, cuz the switches in it are really heavy-duty like those in an arcade machine.
