Thomas Jentzsch
Actually, Brick Kick/Peter Penguin/Fresco/God-only-knows-how-many-other-names-it-has isn't a hack of Pengo. . . It's a hack of Pac-Man. Right. So's Farmyard Fun/Tom's Eierjagd. Where did you get this info from?
Thomas Jentzsch
29. Entombed (check out Stan's thread about it) Nope, that's Mines of Minos (and sku_u had identified it already ).

Right. Is there any code from Pengo in it? It seems odd that the penguin and the squashed guys look exactly like the penguin and squashed guys in Pengo. What about Fire Spinner? Doesn't that one share a great deal in common with another game? It's always fun trying to figure out where these crazy hacks and PAL games of undetermined origin originated. Doesn't that one share a great deal in common with another game? According to CloneSpy it shares about 20% of code and data with Criminal Pursuit and A Misterious Thief. If it's not, it does seem odd that the dots and scorebar in that game are identical to Pac-Man's . . . The horziontal positions and sizes of the dots are identical due to the 2600's hardwarew limitations. The vertical positions and size are different. And many games have a bottom scorebar (there aren't too many possibilities anyway ).
YOK-dfa
Ok, did some work and here is a preliminary list of all the games on this machine. It actually has quite a nice selection of games. Not bad for EUR 15,- I couldn't identify all the games, some looked really familair, but i just couldn't get the name. Maybe i'll post some more screens later. Some interesting notes: - Most games have the copyright and/or manufacturer name removed - It only has 125 games instead of the promised 128 (or i miscounted). Good thing is that they are all original games and not 32 variations of the same game with altered graphics or colors... 001: Time Warp 002: Venture 003: Enduro 004: Superman 005: Ice-hockey (hack) 006: Seaquest (hack) 007: Threshold 008: River Raid (hack) 009: ??? 010: Pac Kong 011: Defender 012: Frogs'n'Flies 013: Video Pinball 014: King Kong 015: Fire Fighter 016: Jaw Breaker 017: Tanzende Teller 018: Dragonfire 019: Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back 020: Space Invaders 021: M*A*S*H (hack) 022: ??? 023: Zoo Fun 024: Keystone Kapers 025: Sub Scan 026: Bobby Is Going Home 027: Raumpatrouille 028: Clown Down Town (aka Walker) 029: Ram-It 030: Nuts 031: ??? 032: ??? 033: Spider Fighter 034: Flash Gordon 035: ?? 036: Laser Gates 037: Dragon Defender 038: Donkey Kong 039: Spider Droid 040: Master Builder 041: Farmyard Fund 042: Tennis 043: Atlantis (hack) 044: ??? 045: Seahawk 046: Save Our Ship 047: Pele's Championship Soccer 048: Boom Bang 049: ?? 050: Pac Man 051: Oink 052: Challenge 053: Panda Chase 054: Thunderground 055: Frogger 056: Pyramid War 057: Grand Prix 058: Demolition Herby 059: Criminal Pursui 060: Parachute 061: Col 'N' 062: Yar's Revenge 063: Star Master (hack) 064: Berzerk 065: Space Cavern 066: Tanks but no Tanks 067: Worm War 1 068: ??? 069: Missile Control 070: ??? 071: Atari Circus 072: Octopus 073: Cosmic Creeps 074: Karate 075: Racquetball 076: Earth Dies Screaming 077: Strategy X 078: Planet Patrol 079: Room of Doom 080: Tuby Bird 081: Dice Puzzle 082: Exocet 083: Dark Cavern 084: Outlaw 085: ??? 086: Spiderman 087: Mariana 088: Brick Kick 089: Mountain Man 090: Sneak'n'Peek 091: Maze Craze 092: Immies and Aggies 093: Cosmic Ark 094: Frostbite (hack) 095: Mafia 096: Atlantis (some hack) 097: Ocean City Defender 098: ?? 099: Hole Hunter 100: Gopher 101: Missile Command 102: Lock'n'Chase 103: Fast Food 104: Mega Mania 105: Bi! sku_u
Wow, that's a nice list of titles. Much more interesting than the last multi-built-in unit I acquired which consisted mainly of hacks of activision titles, including 6 of Dolphin. The only interesting ones in that lot for me were Brick Kick, Stone Age and a weird hack of Circus where the clowns are more detailed, you can use a joystick instead of a paddle, and the balloons look like little pacmans instead of squares. sku_u
I suppose those pirate variations are a never ending story. How true. There's probably a 4-1 hack to game ratio out there if everyone were to look hard enough, putting the number of "games" for the VCS at well over 3000.
