Attic_Atari
I have a 5200 2-Port system that I recently pulled out of the attic and get nothing but a black screen. I've tested the OEM power supply and it is putting out the correct voltage. It has been suggested that I should replace the motherboard. Has anyone had this similar problem and if so, did replacing the motherboard fix it? I would definitely invest the money if I felt confident it would cure the problem. Thanks!! Goochman
My 5200 got goofy on me where the startup screen would show up but most of the time I got garbage and noise - turns out the Pokey Chip went bad.
+Mitch
It's probably the RAM or one of theo other major components, so yeah, replacing the motherboard would probably do it. Most likely be cheaper to get a loose 5200 system though. Mitch
Attic_Atari
Thanks for the input. I've been shopping ebay for several days now - considering purchasing. Some of them look like really well kept systems. Hoping not to get burned.
ApolloBoy
Are you sure you have a game in it? The 5200 won't display anything unless you've got a game in it.
Jerseydevil1953
If you ask me, I would go with the new motherboard from Best Electrontics because the boards are fairly cheap and you end up with a like new game console
