DominiRican05
Has anyone played this proto? I think it's a lot of fun and the graphics are done very nicely. I like the scene variety and the game is addictive. I wish it had been completed and released, I think Atari could've done some interesting things with this one. One stage I assume wasn't completed was the one with the multiple Odies and double Garfields what was that about?

There was an episode from the old cartoon to where they each made a ton of clones of themselves...

moycon
Before Tempest created that great summary of the Garfield proto there was question as to what you were trying to accomplish in this awesome unfinished game. (Ok I was the only one with questions) http://www.atariage.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=6530
ianoid
Man, what a resource atariprotos.com is. I would like to say that I love seeing lab loaners- why no scan of the cart label? That repro/original label of Garfield is excellent.
DominiRican05
I just read the Garfield page on Atari Protos, wow! That is a great label. Even in its unfinished state Garfield is fun to play, and one can only imagine what Steve would've been able to do with it had Atari allowed him to finish. Too bad it woulda been a great platformer on the 2600.
Tempest
why no scan of the cart label? I've never seen a picture of it. I need to ask Steve if he can send me one. Tempest
Blackbird
That'd be nice to have... I've been thinking of burning a Garfield cart. Thinking of tracing one of the mockups if I couldn't find anything in higher quality... I have a question: is it just me, or is the first 8k of the Garfield ROM corrupted? Instead of being filled with $00, it's filled with $80, and no byte in the entire 8k is < $80. Plus, the code doesn't actually make sense. I came across this trying to decompile the ROM... the first 8k is never accessed, though, so it's not obvious.
DominiRican05
I was thinking of getting a Kroc cart and loading Garfield into it so I can play it on my 2600
