DenNorskeGutten
Are there any Atari 2600 emulators that can be run in a browser using Java? A small portion of my website is devoted to classic gaming and I think it would be sweet if my visitors could play Atari games as well as the text adventures I have there. rockman_x_2002
Wish I knew how to help you out. I don't know of any Java emulators. I program in Java and I'm in college now to be a programmer, but unfortunately I haven't quite gotten the skills to key up a quick 2600 emulator or else I'd see what I could do. +Random Terrain
Seems like you might go to prison if you provided both an emulator and the games in one spot for people to play with.

Hmmm... you might be right. Does Atari actively pursue people distributing their old games?

Looks like they are sensitive about similar things: http://www.atariage.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=58436
Mot
I think emulating the 2600 is hard and even Mess does not have it working correctly. So you would be hard pressed to get a Java 2600 emu going right now. There are some emulaters written in java try: Java Emu page I just tried the sega master system one, that one is fun. Ralph3
I used to play (before I lost all my bookmarks) an Apple ][ (+?) emulator with all the roms online through a Java player. It was like a jukebox, you pick the game and it will mostly "load" for you.
