So, much games in hires existed on the A8, it wasn't that essential, to have a protagonist in hires. When you started mocking up "how to do it" screens you sacrificed the low-res backgrounds in order to get that hi-res player sprite, even if you don't consciously believe it to be important your subconscious seems to disagree with you. The rest of us would've just got the low-res version of the blokey from the CPC version of IM2 instead. =-) And to my mind, going to hi-res doesn't do the game any justice... =-) ... Because the game is a classic, as it is. Not really for me, more because, comparatively speaking, i've never liked hi-res graphics for the lack of colour depth - that's why i chose the C64, VIC and A8 over the Spectrum back in the day. The rest of us would've just got the low-res version of the blokey from the CPC version of IM2 instead. =-) The mockup screen was only to make more clear, that even on the A8 a full colored game would be possible in 320x200 (for the guys that prefered the hires sprite )... and that a 160x200 version never was an "impossible" problem ...
