Lord Thag
I just scored some decent stuff. I found Tapper, Nexar, Buck Rogers and Wabbit at a thrift/used game store. Not bad. Tapper is AMAZING. All the arcade screens as well as the bonus round, and spot on gamplay to boot. Another example of how the 2600 could make arcade ports that looked odd, but played better than their prettier, but less fun counterparts on the other 'big three'. I've heard Tapper mentioned favorably before, but not that often. I'm assuming this is because of the R6 rating and lack of exposure. Any of you who haven't picked it up yet, should. Nexar and Buck are so so. Wabbit is odd, kind of a cross between Galaxian and Worm Whomper. So, any of you have luck this past weekend? Blackjack
Tapper was one of my best scores, I got it for 2 bucks at a nearby flea market. LOVE the game, and imho, one of the best arcade ports.
UK WOMBLE
Have to go along with you on this one, Tapper is an excellent arcade game and a very good 2600 game, one of the few slightly 'rarer' carts I actually try to play regularly when time allows... still wouldnt mind getting the cab though, real beauty that one in my opinion. Brad2600
Man, Tapper is such a joy to behold! Have you tried guessing the right soda can in that little mini-game where the soda cans get shaken?
Mindfield
Tapper was one of my all time faves back in the day -- one of the best games I bought and played endlessly; I had to get to the Space Bar any time I played, and wouldn't stop 'til I did. Even today it still plays very well and is tons of fun. Definitely Sega's best 2600 title, and an excellent thrift find by any standard. Lord Thag
It's amazing how many little details they added to it to. The breaking mugs, the detailed bar graphics, even the little full/empty mugs that keep track of your extra lives. The space bar looks great, as well as the bonus round. Whoever programed it was quite talented. What amazes me is that the gameplay is just like the arcade. I should know, I used to OWN the arcade years ago.
