Shawn Jefferson
I recently bought a PAL XEGS, and hooked it up to my Commodore 1084 monitor. The machine works, and after adjusting the vertical hold, I only get black and white graphics. Is this normal, or could there be something wrong with the XEGS? Thanks, Shawn

Bryan
Yep, PAL and NTSC encode color differently, so you'd need a PAL monitor. -Bry
Martin72
Hi, you don't get color now because of the different tv systems, so your tv and your computer working properly. There're two things you can do: 1) use another tv with Pal system 2) convert your atari system to PAL. Option 2 is more difficult, because you must change the antic and gtia chip to NTSC types and change the crystals inside the computer. Recently i convert a atari 800 system from NTSC to PAL and it works! Martin
