Version updates of MyIDE software

Recommended Posts

New versions of two of my MyIDE programs:

MyIDE Tools

MyIDE Config v1.1:

Create, delete, move your MyIDE partitions. Set boot options.

What's new

version 1.1:

- displays sector count correctly for large partitions

- avoids the image space properly when creating a partition

- fixed a bug creating first partition

- fixed boot drive selection (should work now)

- only prompts to Save Configuration if you have actually made a change

MyIDE Image Manager v2.1

Create, delete, search, categorize and NAME your disk images with 30 character description.

What's new

version 2.1:

- double density images now supported, detected automatically

- improved boot routine, fixes some images that wouldn't boot

- simple editing allowed during rename image

- displays correct number of cylinders in Utility, Hard Disk Geometry

As always, please let me know if you have any problems with the software, or any feedback at all!

I'm still sitting on the Defrag and Sort program that will sort your images in various ways, or defragment (any you have deleted get removed.) I need to do a bit more testing myself, and hear back from some people that are beta testing it.

Thanks,

Shawn Jefferson

Excellent!  I need to reconfig my CF and these should come in handy - Any luck on the Image boot issue with some disks?

Some luck, yes. The "soft" OS isn't going to work with much though. That is out of my hands. You need a RomOS for most.

I'm sure there is still some tweaking of the image boot routine that needs to be done... for instance, I still can't boot a SpartaDOS 3.3a image from my program, but I CAN boot it from Mr.Atari's built-in routine (press START at boot.)

@Anyone: would anyone like a feature where you could "mount" any image to one of the drive numbers so that when you exit the program that image's disk is able to be accessed from DOS on that drive? Would this ideally be a temporary thing, or should it remain at that drive number the next time you rebooted as well?

I'm thinking this might be useful for sector editing or something like that.
