Foxsolo2000
Sounds dumb I know but what is the true identity of Gangster by Ariola? I know the cartridge label shows a picture of Outlaw but is it Outlaw or not? I dont own this game and so far three different sites have it listed as three different games so can anyone help me identify it.

Rom Hunter
Gangster (Videospielkassette) (PGP238) (PAL) is a Taiwanese pirate of Outlaw (Atari) (CX-2605-P) (PAL). It could have been distributed in Germany by Ariola.
Foxsolo2000
Thank you for the information. For the record it was released in Germany under the Ariola label. A friend of mine in Germany also confirmed it.
Rom Hunter
Thanks for the info! Does your friend have by any chance an Ariola distributed TP-XXX game (Video Game Cartridge)? TP-XXX (Video Game Cartridge) titles are: Catch Time (TP-602) Dragon Defender (TP-605) Hole Hunter (TP-606) Ski Run (TP-607) Farmyard Fun (TP-617) Criminal Pursuit (TP-619) Edited April 28, 2005 by Rom Hunter
Foxsolo2000
He has all those titles but I cannot say if they are the ones you defined TP-XXX. I will have to ask him. What defines them as TP-XXX?
Rom Hunter
The text on the cartridge is in English instead of German and the serial number is TP-XXX instead of PGPXXX. This is a Taiwanese PGPXXX cartridge: http://www.atariage.com/cart_page.html?SoftwareLabelID=1765 This is a Taiwanese TP-XXX cartridge: http://www.atariage.com/cart_page.html?SoftwareLabelID=1767 If your friend can proof that the TP-XXX games were distributed by Ariola (Ariola distributed games often had a yellow sticker on their boxes), by showing me a screenshot of one of the boxes, I would be a happy (and very surprised) person. Foxsolo2000
The catch time you showed me is the one I have in English. I emailed my friend and am waiting to hear back from him.

Foxsolo2000
He just got back to me. The ones he has are the English titled Taiwan games you mentioned. He has yet to see the yellow lable ones you mentioned. Sorry!
Rom Hunter
The Ariola stickers look like this: Ariola sticker on CommaVid box: Ariola sticker on Activision International Edition Box: I don't think you will find any of these stickers on the Taiwanese TP-XXX game boxes, though. BTW: How does your friend know that the PGPXXX games were distributed by Ariola? Is there an order number on the box or is the name Ariola somewhere on the box? I would really like to know this.
