Rudolphy
Hi Folks, I bought two PAL TIGERVISION carts a few day ago. Are these protos? I opened the covers and took a photo of the card. There are handwritten stickers on the chip: King Kong: PAL KK V1.2 Threshold: PAL Thres V1.1 Does anyone posses a proto from TIGERVISION? Thanks a lot for help Edited May 16, 2005 by Rudolphy
Tempest
Hi, Yes those are Tigervision prototypes. Congratulations! You should have those EPROMs dumped if you can. Here are some pictures of other Tigervision prototypes: http://www.atariprotos.com/2600/software/j...reakerproto.htm http://www.atariprotos.com/2600/software/r.../riverproto.htm Tempest
Rudolphy
Hi Tempest, Thanks for your reply. Great. 2 Protos for less then 5 USD. What a steal. Sorry, but I cant dump the cards, I have not the required equipment for that. But I will check, if there are any differences to the final version. If I find something, I will let you know. Rudolphy
Apropos Proto. Wieder einer fuer mich available?

Rudolphy replies no way he will risk sending them overseas. Wiz then suggests Stolberg in Hamburg will do it. Carey85 says congrats on the find. Eckhard Stolberg
So, have you found any differences from the release versions yet? If so, I'm sure Tempest would love to have a look at the binaries. And if you need my help with reading out the ROMs (and you trust the Deutsche Post enough with sending parcels though Germany ), I'd be glad to help you out. Or, if you have a spare 7800 and a friend who can solder, you can of course build a simple cartridge reader for yourself. Ciao, Eckhard Stolberg

nofrills100
Looks like I might have a Jaw Breaker cart to suit! Nice find! Any noticeable differences from the final version? OK have checked it out and compared. No major differences although three minor ones; 1. the pacman type creature gobbles the biscuits at a slightly faster pace. 2. the intensity of the pink coloured maze structure in the proto is much stronger. 3. the score comes up in orange and not in green as in the original. marginal... but different... Hmm... Sounds like you own the NTSC version. Interesting. If you don't own a dumper yourself, please let someone dump it for you. I'm sure Tempest would like to review it.
