atarilovesyou
...quick one, does the Atari Trakball for the 2600 actually work like the arcade for games like Millipede and Centipede?...that is, the faster the ball is rolled, the faster the onscreen dude moves?...I wouldn't think so, especially not for Centipede since it was an early 2600 game, but I was just wondering. kencrisis
No, not faster. All 2600 games work in "Joystick mode" with the trackball. However, once you get used to it, you will find that your C.pede and M.pede scores will be higher using the trackball, and you will enjoy the games more because of the "arcade-style" experience. Well worth it, in my opinion.
kencrisis
... and I really shoud add that using the trackball makes your moves in the games FEEL faster.
Rob Mitchell
No, not faster. All 2600 games work in "Joystick mode" with the trackball. 855519[/snapback] Except Thomas Jentzsch's hack of 2600 Missile Command which works in true trakball mode. The faster you spin the ball the faster the missile marker goes. Rob Mitchell, Atlanta, GA
