blue87yj
I have a 2600 football cart with the text label but it the text is slightly different than the listed text label, and the writing is yellow instead of green. Common? Uncommon? Anyone know?
Mindfield
Not too uncommon. I have a number of text label colour variations: - Bowling (red text, blue text) - Flag Capture (green text, orange text) - Football (green text, yellow text) - Star Ship (red text, yellow text) I don't imagine it's all that uncommon though. Common? Uncommon? Anyone know? Check the copyright date. It'll probably be 1986 or later. Lots of post-crash versions had odd label variations, and they're relatively rare to begin with, but then most people don't notice the difference. I think it's rather fun to collect post-crash label variations.
CincYnoTi
I think he is talking about the all text label, original release. The one in the AA database has green text. Atariguide shows the "gold" colored text as the second label variation "109c2 blk - gld - locking 1979 ": http://www.atariguide.com//1/109b.htm

dwh
Oh, the dreaded "label variant" posts... Do you think when somebody loaded up the machines ,that put the labels on these carts, stopped to think that 25 years later someone would be "collecting" that particular batch, just because of the 'crash' and the worker just trying to use up whatever rolls of labels they had lying around?<run-on sentence alert> It's funny how expensive some of these 'cost saving' proceedures are costing us collectors nowdays.
