+Stephen
Well, I finally got around to doing the 320KB (Scott Peterson) upgrade to my130XE. After I removed the original 64KB chips and instlled the sockets, I re-installed the old RAM and tested thee machine. Everything worked fine, so I know the sockets & motherboard are OK. I think one of the 41256 ICs are bad. SpartaDos will only detect & format a 64KB ramdisk. I remember from WAY back in the day a file named "RD320.com" but I cannot seem to find it anywhere. MyDos4.53 gives me a 1522 sector disk (which I believe is 192KB), but I can only write to the 1st 1146 (approx 143KB) sectors before I get an error. The VideoBlitz demo loads but only gives me the rainbow 130XE logo - none of the images display. Is there a program out there that will test the banks of extended memory? At the moment, I don't have any other 41256 to swap, so I'm hoping for a reliable way to diagnose this. I double checked all my soldering, and also made sure all the ICs were inserted correctly. None of the RAM chips were warm. Thanks for any help. Stephen Anderson Edited July 1, 2005 by Stephen
