jahfish
ok, so a lot of people now got it ... there's contest going on at DP and it's about that ebay weirdness .... not about lying ..... and unfortunately too much people do. even the centipede auction is not 100% ok, too much bullshittin in the text .... it just shows an overall lack of creativity .... moycon's controller is allready a better approach to it. i like that one ... it's defenitely a prototype in some form ... and there's also new entry that is pretty good .... but most of them are plain lies ... :/ but of course i won't dissapoint my fans here i played some digdug in my brain and ... here's my auction bon appétit! fish [ 03-09-2002: Message edited by: jahfish ]

Thomas Jentzsch
quote: Originally posted by jahfish: but of course i won't dissapoint my fans here i played some digdug in my brain and ... here's my auction Very funny. But, is that fake ebay-page legal? And does it match the DP contest rules?
jahfish
i must say i don't really care if it's ok with their rules .... or if i win this contest or not ... i did it for the fun of it, and specially because this is not as stupidly faked as 95% of the other contest entrances .... most are too obvious or just too stupid .... (yes, you are in the 5% moycon, actually 3 of it) i just thought it's a good counterpart: my auction is "real" and everything around it is faked
jahfish
still everyone who will try to overbid my amigo moycon will proove himself beeing stupid in even two ways ...
Junie
Speaking of weird auctions, this isn't part of some contest or anything but I seen a normal copy of Frogger sell on eBay for $18.50 a few days ago. Now there is a normal Pac-Man with manual for sell on eBay that was currently $29.00 And a copy of River Raid (no manual or box) currently for $20.50 http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...item=1336743812 All these games are normal NSTC games, nothing special in anyway.. Am I missing something or is some how suddenly Atari games are worth this much?!
Lemmi
Whats even worse about that river raid auction is that its been opened before and is now where near mint condition people are getting stupider

Some people become so caught up in a single auction that they will bid outrageous amounts just to make sure they win. These people forget how to walk away from the auction. Instead they say "No, it's mine and I won't be outbid." It no longer is about what they are bidding on but the fight to win it. I have had Frogger auctions go from $4 to $13 in the last 5 minutes just because someone REALLY had to have it. One week I had a guy bid on two different games that way. $12 for Frogger and $8 for Pitfall both of which were started at $4. Since I consider all of my auctions one-bidders (I only expect to get one bid,) I had a good chuckle off that. And yes, I took his money because he did bid that much. MattyXB
@ Jah Fish, can't bid on your bubble gum. And can't watch it. You have use on old number. You must reenter this auction. I want it.

MattyXB
Yes, I know, but I will bid on it. PS: I think this is better then all the other faeks on ebay. Because you can't bid and you must not pay for it. And you must not worry if this auction is real or not.
jahfish
hey matthias, if you're really really really sure you also want to have it, then just come over a bring the 100$! you're welcome anytime ... even take a cab, i'll pay the cabfare! ps>: i can cancel the other 22 bids .... but all these people who allready bided (see bid history) will surely be mad at me ...... but after all... grab the money and come over! pps: if you want i can offer you 2 gums for 150$
MattyXB
Great, now the bidhistory is working. But you have forget to change the number and the link from your feedback there. If I click on it I see the feedback from bccollects. PS: What was this for an auctions? Have they really all bid there? I must think of it to buy it. In the moment I have no money. Today is arrived my Dolphin Patch Secret Society of Dolphins. This is a real one.
jahfish
sorry sorry .... i've used some pages that were just open ... but i thought it would be useless to post it just in germany. and i can't post it in usa, i cannot sell on ebay.com ... :/ so chances to get that auction running are rather small ... matty, you can still buy it directly from me

Anyone who's played Rescue on Fractalus will understand the auction without even having to read the writeup. ..Al
