I know some 8-bitters hit our board occasionally so I thought I'd post an update:

We're going to be down for a week or so while I have an upgrade done to

the Mega ST running the board gang. (I learned my lesson - soldering and I

don't mix! <grin>

Thanks everyone, and sorry for any inconvenience. I'll post messages once

we are back up. :-)

Wow was that a flashback! Telnetted via my main PC. I can't remember the last time I was on a BBS - I am guessing 1995. Amazingly I can still remember the exact specs of the system I had at the time. It was an AMD 486DX4-100 with 16MB of RAM, 525MB Seagate hard drive, Boca Voyager 1MB VESA VGA card, a SoundBlaster16 ISA sound card, and an internal 14.4 modem. That was my 1st system since I stopped using my 130XE, so I had quite a huge leap in technology.

I need to get online with my 8-bit again, and I am dying to start using my 1040 ST I just got, since I never got to experience the 16-bit days.

<grin> Yep, it certainly is a "retro" experience for many people.

I hope you enjoyed it and will visit again. Thanks for calling! :-)

I was up until 4am last night.  I did register on your board, using my 130XE + SIO2PC.  I had never used ICE-T before - man I wish I had this stuff back in the late 80s.

Yep. Odd as it seems, its why a lot of us say, the best time to have an Atari is......now. :-)
