Zybex (music number 4 from sap module - title screen of game) by Adam Gilmore... This is same music for me... O.K. - question are: which game was first or what song conversion is this music? deathtrappomegranate
Don't know where the music is originally from, but Zybex is ©1988 and Sidewinder II is ©1989.
Sikor
Teoritecally yes, but it is only one year differences. Maybe it is only few month, so, it is teoretically interesting think. www.atarimania.com
Zybex appeared on the C64 first and the tune is the same. Sidewinder II was also a C64 original and the music is different on that platform. So... -- Atari Frog http://www.atarimania.com
TMR
Listen to other Orall Cornellius tunes; Slingshot is a cover of the arcade game Paperboy, Speed Hawk is a partial cover of Rob Hubbard's epic C64 theme for Knucklebusters and Tiger Attack is another Hubbard track, this time Phantoms Of The Asteroid (again from the C64). Since Ruff and Reddy is also a cover (of the original theme, this time not based on Ben Hayes' C64 version because its timed differently) he doesn't appear to have done any original tunes so the odds of Sidewinder being his and not a cover of Adam Gilmore's C64 tune Zybex are pretty low... =-)
Sikor
So, than he is only "conversion man" from C64 Maybe someone will look at code: probably he cut music from C64 and use sid code (Hi, Hard Software )?
TMR
No, the tunes aren't direct note-for-note ports so they've been re-arranged - possibly converted by ear.
miker
The sound engine of them is similar to the one use in Winter Olimpiad 88. At least the sounding seems to be similar.
