The Atari Video Club/Jaguar Community United announced thier plans for

thier next Video game and Computer trade show in 2006 entitled the 2006 Video Game Summit.

The date of the show will be August 12th, 2006 from 9am to 6pm at the same location we had

the last three shows Fairfield inn and Suites (Heron point building), 645 West North Ave,

Lombard, IL 60148.

Admission is free to public and we will have a pizza buffet again for this show

(5.00 per person before show date and 6.00 per person at the show price includes 1 can of pop).

Tables are still 15.00 each(space limited(tables are 2 by 5 feet))

We will also free internet access(We are currently planing to do a live chat at

through out the show with updates and concluding with the

online raffle about 1hr before the show closes.more on the raffle to

become availble before show date)

Also we proud to announce we will be accepting credit cards for payments

a couple quick notes:

1. I recently restarted an rss feed for the site (basicly links to PR's)

(link to RSS is http://avc.atari-users.net/Events/VGS_files/vgsrss.xml )

2. The VGS shop at Cafepress.com ( http://www.cafepress.com/vgs )

will be closed at the end of the year to make room for items with new designs and some new items. the srore is due to reopen aprox.3 months before the show date.

(the 2005 program will be moved to the AVC News Stand ( http://www.cafepress.com/avcnews ) also at the end of year)

watch the contest topic for information about a contest that will start tomarrow for VGS'06.

in the mean time I have updated the website abit added a news page(headlines with bit of info from the pr) to the website so when you click on VGS news on the site it won't go to the one with all the prs.

Also the new basic flyer is also at the news page.

VGS Trading Room deatils announced

 

For Immediate Release:

6/6/2006

Atari Video Club announced the following information

about VGS's Trading room:

Trading will begin at 9am in the Deli room till noon

at noon Lunch will begin and trading ends till 2pm.

Trading will resume at 2pm and will end 1 hour before the

close of the show.

Trading rules are as follows:

Only trades will be allowed, no money will be allowed

for trades. due to limited time and space you only

45 minutes to do trades durring each time frame.

(No Food or drinks is allowed near the trading area

durring the trading hours)

ok here's the offical news(the Pr will be coming next week):

GameJobs.com will be partning with us this year

they will promoting the show on thier website and in exchange we have some of thier literature at the show(plus thier web banner will be on the website and thier logo will be on the top of the flyer)

quick Bump

most of the priemum table are already taken(these are tables along the wall and have power)

there is still some left(but not a lot). plus we still have tables in the center of the room

(no power,but we can hook up an extention cord and strip if needed)

we will not have tables in the hallway,and my tables are in the room right by the door.

VGS announces Classic Gorf beat the champ Tournament

For Immediate Release:

7/4/06

Atari Video Club is pleased to announce that due Gorf being very popular

at the Midwest Gaming classic that we plan to continue the tourney.With one twist, players have to beat the score that was achieved at Midwest gaming Classic which was done by Trent with a score of 30,800, the winner of this tournament will get a black Jagfest on tour t-shirt(large size only).

In a chance the score isn't beaten, the high score from the tournament

will be the winner.(the first beat the champ tourney took place at our first show with Protector SE, the game started at MGC and continued at VGS)

VGS products to be sold at the show

For Immediate Release:

7/13/06

Atari Video club announced that they will be selling a limted supply

of white t-shirts(in large and Medium) and Bumper Stickers at this years

show. they also will have a display of selected items from the VGS shop of

which they plan to take orders for. Also VGS mini-buttons will be handed out

to each attendee. If you can't make the show but still would like to

purchase an VGS item from the VGS shop you can do so at the cafepress.com/vgs

until sept 12th which is the date the VGS shop will close down permanity

as it will be moved into the VGS section of the AVC news stand.

(an announcemnt of the opening of the VGS section in tht AVC news stand

will be coming when everything is done)

A quick update, All Premium tables have been taken(there are 12 tables in the center that are currently empty(well this might change depending on how the layout of the tourneys end up, also re: the premium tables:

there are basicly one opening on it,but that might be taken by a staff member)

next tuesday I'll put up the Layout as it stands and who has what table.

Also theres going be announcemnet concerning online raffle.

VGS goes interactive

For Immediate Release:

7/24/2006

Atari Video club announced that they plan to go interactive this

year by having live updates via Internet Relay Chat at IRC.jagfest.org

Channel #vgslive. The offical live show starts at 10am at that time the first

tournament will be going on, and we plan to give upadtes of each raffle and

tournament though out the show. plus we plan to have every vendor and exhibitor

on the irc so you can talk to them. Orignally we have planned to do online raffle

1hr before close of the show,but due to low response we have extended it

have it done on August 19th at IRC channel:#AVClive(same irc location).

A selected VGS item(or items depending on the amount of funds we get) from

the VGS shop at cafepress.com (http://www.cafepress.com/vgs) will be the prize.

The Entry fee for the online raffle is$ 1.35(the .35 covers the paypal service fee)

to submit your entry either go to mollyguard pay site and put in your entry

for the online raffle(limit 3) or send it to atarivideoclub@yahoo.com

(subject: VGS online raffle). people who attend the actual show will also

get a chance to enter,either by paying 1.00 for the entry or if they didn't

win any of the raffles at the show(not including the bonus one ) they will

be automaticly entered in the online raffle. Deadline for entering on line

at the mollyguard site is august 14th,2006 (I will still accept paypal payments

at the e-mail address unril August 16th,2006 )

Twin Galaxies Video Game Summit posters to be given away

For Immediate Release:

7/24/2006

Walter Day and Billy Mitchell of Twin Galaxies have produced 24 Video Game

Summit posters for the show which will be given away.

Poster #1 will be given away with the first Raffle with a Selcted VGS item.

Posters #2 - #20 will be given away at random to a show attendee(posters #21

-#24 will posted on the doors, and is going be given to VGS Staff)

Not only are we going to have posters,but we are also getting hot sauce bottles

24 of them to be exact. these will be given out with each lunch order.

I just to remind people the show is alomost here, tables are still avialable(the premier tables only have one 1 table open,the center has 12 tables)deadline for purchasing tables is august 9th.(anybody that isnterented in sponsoring the deadline is july 30th, but you have to get your ads to me before then,the program gets published next week)

I wish I could make it to one of these shows. Remember to take lots of pics to share with us unfortunates that can't make it. :D

I think I will just order one of the show t-shirts and watch it on the computer. I'll pretend that I am there. :ponder:

Yeah, who's going? Let's see a show of posts. I'm there.

I'll be there :)

I expect this year attendence will be pass the last three shows.

We had flyers going out at most of the major shows(MGC,CinciClassic,CCAG and the great midwest computer show in IL)

I even got interviewed about the show and had a picture of me taken playing gorf on the jaguar for the article(which will be out in Fridays liberty suburban paperes in Elmhurst,Villa park,lombard and oakbrook terrence.

(if Iget the copy of the paper in time for the show,I will bring it with me to show)
