Trip_Cannon
This topic was inspired by the Meltdown thread. What I want to know is where to pick up a new lightgun or which one to pick up? I'm sick of playing Crossbow with a joystick and I want to try out Alien Brigade the way it was meant to be played.
shadow460
There's a set of instructions on modding a Sega Light Phaser for the 2600 in the 2600 FAQ. You'll need a Sega extension cord for this also. Both can be found from time to time in places like gameXchange. There is also a converter you can build for this purpose so you don't have to mod the gun. With the converter, it plays on the 7800 and 2600, without it, it plays on the Master System. If you're collecting specifically for the 7800, go for the XE light gun. I've seen a few on ebay here and there. Otherwise, get the Light Phaser. It's pretty accurate, and I hear that the XE is not. If you can't find the Light Phaser, or have difficulty with the trigger, send me a PM and I'll try to help.
The_Laird
I know that Telegames.co.uk have the 7800/XE gun, that's where I got mine from. i seem to remember it was pretty reasonable too. They usually go for mega bucks on e-bay.
+Mitch
There's also the "Best lightgun" from Best Electronics. It has better accuracy than the Atari gun. Mitch
SteveW
But how is the Best Lightgun on longevity? The Atari XE lightguns I own have stopped working, and i've heard that it's happened to others. How reliable and long lasting is the Best lightgun? bcprs1
The best electric one works a lot better than the XE one. The XE one is very inaccurate. www.best-electronics-ca.com Edited November 22, 2005 by bcprs1
