Draugr
Hi everyone, I have a question that I wanted to ask here and perhaps some of you might be able to answer it. The question is this... Is there anyone or group working on creating highscore saving features for some of the classic Atari 8-bit games? Over at the Commodore 64 scene there is a group called Remember who create trainers and high score saving capability into some or actually many of the old classic games for the Commodore 64. I wanted to know if there was a similar project going on for the Atari 8-Bit systems? With the Flash carts for the Atari 8-Bits, a high score saving feature for some or many of the classic games like Donkey Kong, Food Fight, etc... would be great. We'd have Mega carts with the ability to save our high scores to the carts as well. If anyone is aware of any projects like this for the Atari, please let me know. Thanks John
Rybags
Not really. Most old Atari games were cracked and converted to binary files decades ago. And there was probably a higher proportion of cartridge games made for the Atari. Also, the C-64 has the "advantage" of having it's DOS resident in the disk drive. John E.
I used to modify some Atari games so they saved the high scores and they're mostly on the AURA menus over at Mr.Bacardi's site: http://mrbacardi.atari.org The games with high scores are the ones with 'plus' after the title (eg: Tiger Attack Plus). They're spread out over the disks a bit but there is a fair few there. I still have a disk with 4 games on (Dreadnought, Montezuma's Revenge [i didn't know you couldn't complete it at the time!], Whomper Stomper and Knock!) that were never put on an AURA menu. If anyone's interested in it, and I'm allowed, then I'll put it on here.
