Just out of curiousity, in this wave of SIO2PC frenzy (ha!) with it now being on the Mac, I was thinking back to my first SIO2PC computer, the Atari ST. Anyone using this setup at this time?

Anyone using anything other than a Mac or IBM Platformer? Linux? Unix? Amiga?

i used for years my 1040ste with 800xldj. it's very nice software but the problem was that its not .atr compatible so at the end of the day useless for loading images from the net...

but it was quite ok for cross development. i don't think that any amiga sio2pc like stuff is available?

Well... I had a self built SIO2ST (still have it).

I used the ST as a XL Floppy temporary. The Software I wrote myself.

A result of this connection was my "XL-ST Schiffeversenken"

One version ran on the ST. After loading it on the ST, you could load the XL Version via interface. So one played on the ST and the opponent on the XL.

It was always fun to play it.

beeeeeoooooo...... krschcsc ;)

I have an even better solution I used - Hooking my 1040ST and 130XE up to modems and a phone line. I set the ST to 'answer' (same phone line) and issue the dial from the 130XE - I then 'whistle' into the phone for the hookup and wala I have a poor mans null modem cable.

I then YModem'd files back and forth at 300 baud...........talk about slow :)
