crash
Greetings, Can anyone advise what components control the speed in an Atari 810 disk drive? Wait, before you answer, I have tried to adjust the little green potentiometer box on the power board. This works, but the speed is still unstable and the at the closest I can get it wanders at least +/- 6rpm, between 182-194 rpm, while my other 810 only wanders +/- 0.5rpm (188-188.5 rpm) I replaced the power board with a brand new one, and have tried several power supplies. I replaced the drive mechanism with a brand new one. I lubricated the spindle and motor parts too. Before I go any further, I am hoping that someone may know what would cause unstable speed. Side board? Analog board? Data separator? Your help would be greatly appreciated. Crash!
+orpheuswaking
Ummm... Possibly the drive belt, If it's loose it can slip and slow down the drive (don't know how it would +speed though). Just a thought!
