Shawn
I have noticed 5200 prices fluxuate from $25 to $50 on average for a decent setup with a few common games.
godzillajoe
I have the opportunity to buy a 5200 with a few games (pac man dig dug and just a couple more) and one controller for $40 is it worth it? I have a working 5200 with no controllers and a pile of games. Edited March 20, 2006 by godzillajoe
Paranoid
I bought a working 5200 in really beat up condition (cracked joystick cover and crack on the front plastic) and a second 4 port (in the bottom of the original box with all foam packing, joystick packing, 4 port switchbox in original box), that joystick port #1 is bad on, with about a dozen games, for $30 with three non working joysticks (of which one was fully repairable and one was semi-reparable), from a semi-local private party. On e-bay, something like this would probably fetch anywhere from about $40-80, and generally you're going to be on the high-side, on eBay. Demand there seems strong and consistent. The controller is the important thing. If your party has a working gold dot controller, that would drive the price up considerably. My guess is that it isn't, or it wouldn't be only $40. But it might be a home-rebuilt stick, and as long as it works, that is still a good deal. If it is a broken or untested stick... eh... still a pretty good deal, if everything works. Beats buying it from eBay and not knowinig until you get it.
godzillajoe
Guy said the stick works perfectly, I'll see when I go there and test it out. If it's in reasonable shape I'll pick it up. The last time I saw a 5200 with working sticks was at some flea market and the guy wanted $75 with no games included
