Chris-in-NJ
I've got the 7800 version of the Redemption adapter, and it works brilliantly. When I first got it, I tried out a number of games on it with a regular 2600 joystick, and soon discovered that the only one I had that required a fire button that actually worked in some way was Galaxian. Trouble is, it gave me auto fire. Having recently purchased Super Pac-Man from atarimax.com, I recalled this fact, and figured that since I *always* used the super speed after eating a super dot, and to do this I needed the left button on the 7800 stick, what would happen if I tried a regular 2600 stick? Would I get automatic super speed? The answer is yes. I now play Super Pac-Man exclusively with an FB2 stick. One other game in my collection benefits from this "feature": Q*bert. I can play it with a regular 2600 stick and not have to hold the red button down to jump. Trouble is, I can't quite get the hang of it, since I'm so used to the way the 2600 version plays! I have no problem with a 7800 stick, though I have to hold the left button down to move... One other game I'm positive *won't* work with this feature is Frogger, since that requires a button press for each jump, and once cannot simply hold the left button down.
