Rex Dart
I'm gonna bring a topic back to life here.. I just got back into the Dreamcast again. But that's a story for another thread. I remember be excited for a Dreamcast port of Half-Life back in the day. My computer played the demo really slow. It was a sad day when it got cancelled. Anyone want to help me out? I'd love to play it.... -rick The same answers from years ago still apply today (torrents, USENET). However, there are places like Rapidshare now that might have such files. Downloads will be slow and will likely be multipart RARs with dozens of parts, and even though it's a pain, it's often better than torrents that require you to share the file with others. Not that I don't like the idea of sharing, I just don't like countless hundreds of TCP/UDP connections to my PC from unknown places (type netstat next time you're downloading torrents and prepare to be shocked.) Or just check the Peers section of your BT client. What's to be shocked about? That's the whole idea. But yeah, the web's been a lousy place to pirate games for, oh, the past thirteen years or so. NE146
Screw it. Here is a direct link to the Half Life Gold ISO for the Dreamcast. http://nzbclub.com/search.aspx?q=half_life_USA_DC-XANADU and/or http://nzbclub.com/search.aspx?q=half_life_usa_dc-muds Both are on a.b.dreamcast and are nearly 2 years old now (540+ days as of today) so you will need a premium Usenet provider to snag it. Worked fine for me from Astraweb (which has a $10 for 25 gigs plan which is real nice for the occasional downloader since it never expires) and took a mere 4 minutes to download. Else if you'd rather go the torrent route, I found it easily on demonoid.me. However I think it's an invite-only site and I don't have any invites. I'm sure there are other torrent sites with it though. Good luck.

Yes, I know that's the whole idea behind P2P, but I prefer more anonymous methods.

OldSchoolRetroGamer
Thanks! you're awesome!!! now i just gotta figure out how to burn 'em. All you need: Make sure to use regular CD-r (not re-writables) ImgBurn, free, light and easy as it gets. http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=download
+Zeptari
I tried it twice with CDburnerXP, but it didn't work. it said the file was to big to fit on the CD-R.I tried to overburn it... fail! I'm trying an older version of ImgBurn... when i try the write img file to disc it says it's an unsupported format. If i try the optoion to the right> "write files/folders to disc" it lists 4 or 5 half life releated files... I'm not sure if i should even try this option. HELP! -rick Edited April 30, 2011 by Zeptari1

Thanks again... now i just gotta figure out how to make a pro-grade label for the Cd and case for it. -rick
amiman99
I played Half Life for DC and it made me sick (nauseous), there is some thing wrong with the 3D engine. The PS2 version does not have that effect on me. Maybe DC version is too fast.
