Inky
I'm suffereing from the age-old problem of my mouse/Joustick ports on my ST not making good contact, thus requiring a jiggle or jamming a piece of paper between the case and the mouse cable to get it to work properly. Is it a simple case of re-soldering the db9 to the motehrboard, or are there other considerations I need to take into account. I loved the ST in every respect except for the location of the mouse/joystick ports on the Mega and STfm's

+Mitch
I think you've got the right answer yourself. The DB9 connector probably has a couple of cracked solder points and just needs to be resoldered. Mitch http://atari7800.atari.org
Inky
I think you've got the right answer yourself. The DB9 connector probably has a couple of cracked solder points and just needs to be resoldered. Mitch http://atari7800.atari.org I cracked open my ST and found a bit of a surprise... I did not know that the mouse ports were connected to the keyboard on the 520 STFM. Also, one connection on the port was never soldered! The connector was just bent over to make contact with the board! Now I need to get a hold of a mouse as I seem to have lost the one I had. Anyone got a spare for cheap? Atari Smeghead
Just thought I mention that if you ever run across a Beetle Mouse (eBay, or where ever), it's a really decent replacement for the standard ST mouse. I got mine from Toad Computers, back in the day. I did a quick check of B & C and Best; didn't see Beetle. They both have other styles, obviously. Not a lot of help... Sorry.
