Been a while. Again, I've been hyper-busy with rb+, but mostly not with the game this blog was created for... oh well :0)

Being friends with both CJ, the developer of raptor, and the insanely helpful and hyperactive guy responsible for rb+, GGN, kind of means I'm in a uniquely perfect position when tinkering with the Jaguar's first fully functional BASIC. What I've come to realise is that without this instantaneous online help, feature request and bug-squishing service, I'd probably given up or become frustrated some time ago... so the priority now is to help others get up to speed - anyone and everyone, I want to enable whoever fancies a go to feel confident enough to become involved.

To that end I've been working on a tutorial of sorts. The first section is a kind of Jaguar-for-beginners primer and intro to rb+, non-technical and targeted to the absolute novice. Following on from that will be a more hands-on tutorial with rb+. I've spent the last couple of days putting a small example game together and fully documenting it, all over-simplified where possible and attempting to keep things understandable rather than hyper-efficient. I've also got most of an accompanying tutorial ready to go and hope to be able to get the first two parts of the tutorial, all the binaries and executables up within the next 2 days - before the weekend. After that I have a further project that's part of a more advanced tutorial - the game is a little more complex but offers great scope for introducing many more of the features of rb+.

For now, I'll crack on with the tutorials and get the first parts ready for proofreading. After that I can concentrate on the 2nd tutorial and a series of smaller, more focussed tutorials based around specific features such as particles, colour systems and simple effects that become possible, that kind of thing.

So apologies this blog didn't really head in the direction I'd hoped, it will at some point, but for now the priority is potential users.
