Oh,  It's a conundrum, all right...A riddle surrounded by enigmas,  wrapped in one big pile of mystery.

Perhaps it turns out Atari wants to hire Artie to get some provenance into the company, similar to how they have Nolan Bushnell on some advisory board (cause the only explanation I can think of).
