Cybergoth 300 Posted October 18, 2006 Phew... five nerve-wrecking tries later I made it! Wasn't really worth it though. The unrewarding end-screen aside, playing through such a hardcore oldschool RPG these days felt more like work than something really enjoyable Quote Link to comment
EricBall 241 Posted October 19, 2006 I'm part way through GCN Paper Mario, working on Twilight Village - oink! One nice thing is there haven't been too many battles which hinge on a specific item or technique to win. Sure, many of them are much easier with the right "trick", but I was able to slog through many of the Glitzville battles even when I didn't have the ideal setup. (I think I died once, partially because I had to get hit several times.) OTOH I didn't finish Dungeon Siege (PC) because I got bored of wiping out the entire goblin army. Quote Link to comment

djmips 64 Posted January 6, 2007 Just a quick note on this rather old entry. :-) The latest Final Fantasy has a scripting of sorts that allow you to automate your characters to a degree. Second, I just played through 80% of YS for the NES because I had actually done the port for the Apple IIGS and was feeling nostalgic. I still liked it, and felt like it was an underappreciated game. I did get stuck at one of the boss monsters though.... Quote Link to comment
Cybergoth 300 Posted January 6, 2007 Y's is one of the games I still need to play. I have it for the Master System, one of the very few RPG type games that made it there Quote Link to comment
