So what *are* the Mystery Games, anyway?

One question which comes up every couple of months is "What are the Mystery Games?" This is understandable, since on my Songbird Projects page I mention not one but multiple Lynx and Jaguar mystery projects.

I put these as a placeholder for projects either in progress or intended to be in progress. I can say that all three are in progress, although one is not running on the target hardware yet. The other two are running in some shape or form on the target hardware right now. Having said that, I will admit, yes, I have not actively worked on these mystery projects for quite some time. Right now, MegaPak is taking all my Atari attention. It's too close to completion for me to put it on hold in favor of something else. So, where does that leave me?

One of the projects is awaiting a license agreement with a third party. Once that agreement is secured, it would only be a few months and the project could be published. Another project requires additional code and test by yours truly. It's a relatively small project, but something I think many Atari fans would enjoy. And the last project, hinted at above, will require significant coding by me, but that's not likely to happen this year.

This is all vague, and intentionally so; I've realized over the years it's sometimes better to surprise the fans than to announce something specific (like Ultravore or Distant Lands) and have it languish for years. Hopefully fans get an unexpected treat every now and then, like Loopz or Total Carnage. But I know waiting is tough... all I can say is I will post something concrete when I know it's going to happen.

What, did you really expect me to identify any of the projects by name? :)
