Action Biker (C64)
Action Biker is a quirky, interesting Commodore game that has been largely overlooked. Released in the UK by Mastertronic (famous for their "two quid" pricing), the game puts you in the shoes of a motorbiker in the middle of a small town. The game has a GTA feel to it; you can basically do anything you want, including riding around a roller coaster and trying to manage your way on top of a building scaffolding. Although the map is not too large, it wraps around, meaning you can ride on the same road for quite a while before your fuel runs out. The isometric graphics do a great job of properly conveying the game mechanics. The game itself is easily downloadable these days, so there's no reason to try it out; be sure to check "Under The Radar" for Action Biker. This title screen is from an earlier release...and this is from a later one. The game is also called "Clumsy Colin" due to this title screen.lanna.zipHere's a screenshot from the original...lanna.zipand this is a screenshot from a fanmade re-release, Action Biker '99. Notice the changes (especially the updated HUD).
