Thanks Zach! I've got another few strips done, and some more written (but not yet drawn).

PhD is really good! I'd never seen it before either, but aside from the web, it looks like it's only been published in the Stanford Daily (and not every day). It's really interesting going back to the first strip, the skipping ahead (click the +10 button) and looking at how the art evolved. He's gotten much, much better over the years.

:ponder: Thanks Nathan. I look forward to more of Artie the Atari.

Speaking of cartoons, I just discovered Piled Higher and Deeper. ;) Don't know how it could have been around since 1997 without my knowledge.

Jesus Christ. I had no idea that art could ever imitate my life! I was in EE grad school for 6 freaking years. I got my Masters in 15 months but quit after several years of spinning my wheels in the Ph.D. program. Also, I can affirm that pretty much everything depicted in that comic is true.

My advisor wants me to come back and finish, but I don't think I have it in me to do so.

PhD is a great spoof of academic life. There are three PhD books containing most of the strips (search for "Piled Higher and Deeper" on Amazon to find them).
