Homebrews and More

I've been a little bummed about how few reviews have been done for Medieval Mayhem. Then I got to thinking - I've not done any reviews myself, so I don't have any right to be bummed.

So tonight I gathered together my homebrews and compared them against my past shipments in the AtariAge store to make sure I found them all. Good thing, I missed a few! Also had 2 that weren't on a shipment - I'd picked up SCSIcide and Thrust while attending AGE(Austin Gaming Expo) back in 2003 where I got to meet Al and Joe Grand. I'm quite disappointed there's been no more held

I must say, I have a lot more homebrews than I thought I did :-o

here are the names in order they are pictured (wish BB supported a TABLE code, guess I'll make do with the CODE tag)

2005 Mini Game Multi Cart	Fall Down Medieval Mayhem	SCSIcide
Cat Trax Four-Play Pleiades Seawolf
Crazy Balloon Funky Fish Power Off! Starfire
Conquest of Mars Hunchy 2 Holiday QB Stratogems Deluxe
Elevators Amiss Krokodile Cartridge	Reindeer Rescue	Thrust+ Platinum
Encaved Lady Bug Saboteur Toyshop Trouble

tree wave - cabana ep+ Stelladaptor Atarivox

I plan to do at least 1 review a week, hopefully more. Anyway it's after 11 so I'm heading off to bed.

Oh, and in case you're wondering, the "and more" in the blog entry title refers to the 3 items in front of the cartridges.

Heh, I'd write a Medieval Mayhem review. Been playing it alot! But would I be bias being that I were involved as the artist?

I must admit I have'nt done much of any reveiws myself. The only other hombrews I own and played at all are Toyshop Trouble, Go fish, and Ladybug. Some homebrews already got more good reviews than it needs -which is why I don't bother if I basicaly will end up repeating what's already been said. But if I really enjoy something that has few or no review, that would be a likely canidate for me to start one i suppose.

It's never stopped me. :) I just mention that sort of stuff in the review. As long as its an honest review, it's still valid.

Write them anyway. I think the more reviews a game has, the better it is for potential buyers. I don't worry about repeating what others have said. If it's a good game, it deserves all the praise it can get.

The tricky part comes when you have to review a game that you did some work for, that you don't like. :)

That's the Krokodile Cartridge. I've updated the blog entry to make it more clear that the list of names is the cartridges in order.

I'm about half way done on my first review. Takes a bit more time to get a review together than I was expecting. I've got an unpublished blog entry with the points I wish to make, but haven't pulled them together yet.

I understand, especially when you have to expect to being compared with Nathan's great reviews. ;)

Looking forward to yours!
