ANSI menus

Chimera is going to primarily be controlled via an onscreen menuing system. But since we don't have that yet, we've been doing things through a terminal session. However, we decided to beef that up a bit. We're going to make the terminal session use ANSI colors. Here is a preview of some static screens:

We're giving it kind of a BIOS screen look.

There will also be a functional hex editor so you can do some real low-level debugging operations.

This is pretty damn cool.

Does this work with something simple, like Hyper term? Been a long time since I dealt with serial interfaces...

Yup, should work with any terminal program that can support ANSI emulation. I havent run into one yet that didnt. The only issue might be if you arent emulating and are actually using a VT100 or something . Platform independent also; Macs, Windows, and Unixes, no problem.

Glenn didnt put up the picture of hex editor, but it will let you change the game code as the game is running if you wish. Its not exactly realtime, kinda a snapshot thing. But you can refresh when you wish. Still should be useful. You will also be able to edit the ARM RAM and the on cart EEPROM if available.
