Hi there!
Unlike most other games I was "Playing..." so far, Druid isn't completely new to me:
I've played it a couple of times before. It is an intelligent Gauntlet type of game, with a couple of new ideas in the mix. So is your Druid armed with three elementary power shots: Fire, Water and Flash. These do different damage, depending on the enemy type you're shooting, i.e. you don't want to use water against the skeletons for example, since fire is three times more effective.
Your supply of shots is limited. You start with 50 shots of each power, but you can fill them up to 99 from various treasure chests.
Other things you find in chests are keys, and three types of spells: Invisibility, Golem and Chaos. Invisibility is self explanatory and the Chaos spell is some kind of smartbomb and your only weapon against the 4 bosses of the game.
The Golem is theoretically cool, but pointless for a solo player. In a 2-Player game it can be controlled by the second player, so it will make the game a lot easier. For the solo player it has some basic AI, but this is so stupid, that it is more effective to just ignore the Golem completely.
Now, the game has 8 dungeon levels, with 4 bosses in the bottom 4. What usually has stopped me in the past, is that in addition to the games difficulty, the game loses it's linearity after the third level. It gets a complicated up'n'down journey, where I usually got lost after a while, since as usual I've been refusing to map
So, this time I chose to make a more serious attempt at beating it - using a map from someone else!
Starting easy, tonight I just made my way through the linear part, saving the first boss for tomorrow.
Greetings,
Manuel
