Actionauts
Today when I came home for lunch I had a wonderful surprise waiting for me in the mail. It was my copy of Actionauts that Rob so generously gave to me for low low price of $0. After work I got some time to sit down and play some Actionauts. I got to the 5th level which was the first level that I had to actually think to complete. Unfortunatly I found a bug in the game and couldn't complete the level. My arrows all turned to a garbled mess and I couldn't tell what I was programing the robot to do. I don't know how I did this but this is an unfinished game so what can you expect.
Here is a pic of the box. It looks so pretty and new, Rob signed and numbered every box and cart. My cart # is Corey/250. Since my copy was one of the extra 50 copies, it has my name in place of the number because it is not one of the 250 copies that were sold.
Here is a pic of the cart. I could not get a good picture of the cart to save my life because of the shiny label. It looks just like the box and is also signed and numbered the same.
The manual is only 2 pages on the inside with a sticky note that is personalized by Rob for each copy. The front is the same as the box and cart and the back has credits for everybody involed in this game. My note says "Corey, the box got a little bit bent because this was one of the very 1st ones out the door. Figured you wouldn't mind. Enjoy, Rob." The box only has a small mark in the top left corner as seen in the pic. Rob explained to me that he was still learning how to glue the boxes properly and bent it.
This is a copy of the original design notes for Actionauts. It basicly just explains how the game works, and is 4 pages long.
This is a screenshot of the first level maze screen. This screen just plays out your commands that you programed.
This is a screenshot of the program screen. This is where you program the robot and tell it what to do.
This is a really cool game to have in my collection and gives me a unique game to talk about, if I can find anybody to talk about it with.
Here is a pic of the glitch I found in the game. This time I managed to do it on level 6 so I don't think it has to do with the level you are on. Notice that two of the arrows are scrambled and the top arrow has dissapeared. I can't scroll the screen up and I can't tell what arrow I am on. The run command on the bottom has also dissapeared and I can't change the arrows. This is a really fun game and very challenging. I don't mind the bugs because this is an unfinished game, so what can you expect. If this game would have been finished and released it would have been one of IMAGIC's & Rob's better games.
