Excellent news! The GC backward compatibility is a blast, that's how I'm enjoying Resident Evil right now

 

Make sure to get it online, that seems to enhance the fun for me. The extra channels not so much, but I find myself downloading VC and WiiWare games frequently. I prefer especially playing N64 titles on the VC, there it seems to give me fewer headaches and motion sickness problems than the original N64 3D rendering.

 

It's also fun to verify my Geometry Wars Galaxies ranking, I'm around #400 already

First time I've had a "modern" console since the N64 in 2001.

Also realized that it will play GameCube games last night so I can probably put away the GameCube, saving some space.

I'm confused...

By "modern" I meant a console that was the newest thing from that people that make it - I was given the GameCube after the release of the Wii - actually, I was given it because the guy that had it got a Wii.
