Mii and the Wii - 4 / 2009

Hi there!

The time since the last report was mostly spent with Resident Evil. I also tried focusing my always growing shopping list some more on the higher quality titles :)

The list of games I'm done with: Wii Sports, Zelda TP, Excite Truck, Metal Slug Anthology, Geometry Wars, Bully :thumbsup:, Eledees, Zack & Wiki :thumbsup:, Mario Galaxy, Death Jr., Battalion Wars 2, Disaster :thumbsup:, Metroid 3 :thumbsup:, Fire Emblem :thumbsup:, Boom Blox, de Blob, Opoona, Lego Indiana Jones, Okami, No More Heros :thumbsup:, MadWorld, Tunguska, Deadly Creatures, Force Unleashed

The rest of my Wii collection:

Wario Land => I think this one's my favourite jump'n'run on the Wii so far, probably beacuse it is in 2D. I even went for the extra goals in some levels ;)

Resident Evil 4 => Surprisingly unspectacular. I expected to see one of the best games of all time here, but it didn't even spark enough interest in me to finish it. Somewhere in the middle of the game the unnerving bodyguarding of that silly presidents daughter made me quit.

Umbrella Chronicles => Surprisingly spectacular. I think I had more fun with this crosshair shooter than with the actual Zero / Nemesis games. It doesn't beat REmake though ;)

Tenchu => Another disappointment. I guess I have far enough try & error in my day job, than to enjoy that in a video game. Didn't even make it past the 3rd mission. Bah...!

==========================================

My current shopping list:

Anno => I learned that this version offers some simplistic coop tasks to perform for a second player, so I might even join my wife for a while ;)

Little Kings Story => Such a lovely gem, I definitely must have this!

The Conduit => I want to give this one a fair chance, especially after Bob recommended it.

Another Code R => I'm really looking forward to meet Ashley Mizuki Robbins again :)

Tiger Woods 10 => My #1 choice for WM+!

Overlord Dark Legend => A Pikmin for goths, yay! :D

Metroid Prime Trilogy => No Brainer!

Cursed Mountain => I'll give it a try. Hopefully the better Resident Evil game on the Wii! ;)

Mini Ninjas => The best Ninja game ever? At least on Wii I bet!

==========================================

My future Hopelist:

Mario & Sonic Olympic Winter Games => Video Winter Games usually are tons better than the summer ones, so I'm looking forward to this one. I might even get me a Balance Board for it ;)

Monster Hunter 3 => Well, I'm usually no fan of Online games, but maybe this one changes everything?

Tatsunoko vs. Capcom => Not my favourite genre, but so totally over the top and from Capcom? I'll have a look!

Fragile => I love the setting and the art style and the atmosphere and it finally got confirmed for Europe! Yay! :D

Ghostbusters => I'm waiting for this so long now, I'll sure gonna explode when it doesn't arrive soon now!

Resident Evil: Darkside Chronicles => Since Umbrella Chronicles got very close to a :thumbsup: from me, this one might just make it! I'm especially looking forward to the Code Veronica scenario, since that's the only RE game (besides RE5) I didn't play so far.

Greetings,

Manuel

Small update; I'm at about 13 hours of online play and I feel like I haven't scratched the surface. Don't know if that's your thing or not, but I'm having a lot of fun.

My opinion of the single player campaign in a nutshell: better than Halo but not as good as Halo 2.

I've played through the Mini Ninjas PS3 demo and had a blast. It reminded me a lot of Zelda (Windwaker cell shaded graphics & Twilight adventure). I don't know how it will map to the Wii controls though.

I've also played the PS3 demo of Ghostbusters and I wasn't impressed. It's a 1st/3rd person shooter with bosses only. The ghosts are always popping up behind you. Luigi's Mansion was more fun.

I'm really looking forward to those games.

I think the last Ego-Shooter I played longer than an hour was Duke Nukem, so The Conduit should be very interesting to me (...hoping it's not triggering my motion sickness...)

I for sure can't compare it to Halo ;)

Mini Ninjas got a raving 87% review in the german Wii Magazin, they didn't sound too negative on the controls. I'm really hyped about it now, favoring it even over Spyborgs - an amazing feature considering what Capcom fanatic I normally am :ponder:

And Ghostbusters should play like a dream. Controlling Proton-Packs, that's what the Wiimote was made for! ;)
