Used book stores that carry videogames can be awesome (and sometimes not so much).

There is a local used book store that carries all sorts of things. Books (no way!), used music CDs, vinyl records, DVDs and VHS tapes. Hell, I'd bet Beta tapes are there somewhere. A few months back they began taking trades on all generations of video games. Surprisingly, they get quite a selection thanks to the oldies constantly cleaning out their attics.. Unfortunately, word has gotten out about the place and it's usually picked-over by the time I get there. Well, the good stuff is picked over, anyway. Some items are way overpriced (FFVII GH for $50? No thanks). However, some games are totally under the usual market value. Here, you can score many goodies, such as nice CIB Genesis games, for about a buck or two a piece. I've snagged some great titles on the 'cheap, and when there is a larger selection than usual, I usually end up walking out with ten or fifteen games, all for under twenty or thirty dollars. Nice.

So, today I made the once-every-couple-week excursion out there. To my surprise, they were re-stocked on Genesis titles (Not much else, unfortunately)! I ended up snagging quite a few games at very low prices. I walked out with (all CIB): Jewel Master ($1 or $2), OutRunners ($5, beats eBay prices!), Ex-Mutants ($1 or $2), The Humans ($1), Taz 2 ($1 or $2), and a couple of others I can't remember off the top of my head. Also, to my surprise, they had a CIB Lethal Enforcers bundle for the Sega CD. It was more than I wanted to pay--about $25--but I said, "what the hell," and snagged it. The deciding factor was seeing others go for $40+ on eBay. Some didn't sell for slightly less, but I think all in all they go for more than $25 on average.. Any money I can save--especially if being able to grab it locally instead--is good to me. I've been wanting one of these again for a while anyways (Haven't had one since I was a kid), but not for the online $40 price tag.

All in all, not a terrible find today. About $38 later, I walked out with about ten items, and one of them took up the majority of that amount. Nice!
