Double Rainbow - meh! I've got Quad Rainbow pt.5

Starting to take shape now - here's hopefully the final video with static background. I am still experimenting to see how much data I can throw at the screen during VBI and still maintain 60FPS. I am going to have to scale the video RAM way down from where it is currently, as 2048 bytes is too much :( I initially planned for 1024, this should work.

 

No details, just a quick preview of the working score system (2 variables hold the score, deferred VBI handles the rest).

Looks very colourful. My only criticism would be the fact that the ball gets "lost" as it travels through the colours close to itself. Are you planning on making the ball darker when it does that?

Not sure - the background is not supposed to be static. I am hoping the animation will take care of that. If not, I will either make the ball darker when it goes through a bright spot, eliminate the brightest colors, or use it as a "feature" to make the game harder :)

Looks good, how about doing better 'rainbows' using some of those software based hardware tricks (i think you know the ones i mean) to getting more colours (i.e over 256)

 

Just OOI, is there any pot of gold at the end of your 'rainbows'
