  • Menu changed so only option name is highlighted. This was done so it's easier to see the color values when you're changing them.
  • highlight is now a white gradient, START changed to a red gradient so you can tell when it's selected
  • fixed a bug where an extra grey selection would show up before multicolor when using joystick-right on the color option.
  • luma value changed to 8 for monochrome asteroids. Previously it was 14. This should make flicker less noticeable.
  • Ship explosion slower and has an extra invisible frame at the end. This was done so that any shots in the air can finish their travels so the other player doesn't score points off your shots.
  • Fixed it so game won't end if you lost your last ship but your final shots scored you an extra ship.

A few things:

#1 - On the title screen when you have color selected, the color of the asteroids that are the same as the word "COLOR" change as well as the word "COLOR."

#2 - There should be an option to turn off the UFO, or have it appear way less often than it does now.

#1 was mentioned in the comments of the prior blog entry:

there is a minor issue in that the multicolor asteroids have a little bit of flashing as the blue is used to color some of the asteroids.

The kernel is a 2 color kernel, the blue asteroids share the color of the option name which is why they flash when selected. It's a minor trade off for a much improved interface as the selected color was very hard to see when the whole option line was flashing.

 

#2 yep, I plan to tie saucer respawn time to the level option, just haven't gotten around to it yet due to RL.
