My parents and computers...

My mom decided last month that she was interested in starting her own business to sell crafts. The challenging part for my parents was figuring out just HOW to do such a thing. So, they bought a brand new Dell computer, hooked it up to DSL and my mom started an EBay account. She still hasn't sold anything yet, but it is a good learning experience for her. She seems willing to learn new things in order to be able to make money off her creations. My father on the other end, has a dislike for computers. However, he has shown some patience and found some use in owning a computer(like playing a game of solitaire or looking up stocks) and he seems to be adjusting to the influx of technology. My mom did something really funny recently. She had one of the digits in my email address all screwed up and kept getting a "return to sender" message. So, I had to write down the correct address and send a test email from her address to my address to show her that it is the correct address and all. I hope my parents will email me more often so I don't have to worry about calling. I'm glad to see that they're making an attempt to embrace technology, instead of simply shunning it. They had a computer a few years ago but lost interest after I moved out of the house and took the computer with me. Auctions by my momI just helped my mom list the above item today. I took a picture and showed her through the step-by-step process of listing an item. I hope she sells something because I want my parents to see how worthy a computer and EBay can be to their needs. I'm also trying to convince my dad to sell parts from a '92 Mustang that he's tearing down to help fix my brother's '93 Mustang. Just thought I'd share.
