Returning to Oklahoma City Community College (OCCC) on April 11, the Oklahoma Electronic Game Expo (OEGE) will converge for a complete day of video-game revelry.
Growing at an amazing rate, programs in video-game development and design are emerging as popular career choices. From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., gamers will experience the newest game software, encounter fellow gaming enthusiasts and compete in the latest video-game tournaments.
Also showcasing OCCC as a creative outlet, the college offers degrees in several forms of digital art production including computer animation, multimedia, game design, web design, graphic design, film and video production and more, creating a ready workforce for any creative industry.
OEGE is made possible by the Computer Aided Technology department and their students in the Computer Arts and Technology Society [CATS], a student organization on the campus of OCCC. These students work to promote, network and organize the expo to help place computer arts and Oklahoma on the creative map.
Free and open to the community, entry fees are required for tournament players. Portions of the tournament proceeds will go to Child’s Play Charity. For more information about the 2009 OEGO, please visit http://oege.catblog.occc.edu/wordpress.
OCCC is located at 7777 S. May in southwest Oklahoma City. For more information, please call (405) 682-1611, or visit the OCCC Web site at www.occc.edu.
