The Basement BBS first goes online

The Basement BBS first goes online in November, 1986. The first version of the BBS ran MPP A.M.I.S. BBS Software on an Atari 800XL, 1 Dual Density 1050 disk drive, and a Supra 300AT modem (which was a rebranded MPP 1000E modem). The modem/dial-up version of the Basement BBS was online until September, 1998. It then returned as an Internet telnet only BBS on July 4, 2017.
