How much would you pay for this?

I didn´t intend to collect for the Lynx, but a guy is selling me this:

How much should I pay? (I don´t have any idea of rarity about Lynx games. BTW, it´s an European one) Thanks a lot.

I would pay 30 euros. It is an used Lynx I with paint coming off here and there. The Chips Challenge is one of my favorites. At ebay people have got them around 20 without games lately.

But it is a big parcel so you will end up paying a lot for getting it shipped also.

Thanks for the answer. The guy is selling it for 25 euros+ shipping. 31€ with shipping included doesn´t seem bad at all, doesn´t it? (there are about 8 more people waiting in line after me). I´ve seen the system sell with 6 games for 85€, and with 3 games but no box (either in games or system) for 55€. I think it´s pretty rare around here.

I think I´ll buy it. I´m only collecting currently for the Dreamcast and the DS, although I´ve collected for other systems like the Nes, Genesis, Snes or even the 2600 in the past. But this is a good chance to get a good system that is in, if not an excelent condition, a pretty good one at least. I don´t like the lack of an AC adapter or the paint coming off, but, oh well, you can´t get it all, right? :D

I dunno about $30 Euro, I would think more like $30 USD ( or $20 EURO).

20 euro? Spain is a pricey country for videogames. The guy is selling the system and people are going crazy (there´s already more than 10 people waiting if I don´t buy it). That means I´m getting quite a bargain, I think :P

BTW, I´ve reading this forum a bit, and the Chip´s Challenge game is the ridged one. Isn´t it a bit rare?

It is after all a Lynx I (rare compared to Lynx II). And 4 boxed games. I have not got any of my Lynxes that cheap. But of course the cheaper you get it the better.

I am willing to pay 31 with shipping any day in case you don't take it :)

If you sell stun runner and pac-land loose, you get around 20/ 25 euro for that, sell the other two together with the lynx and you get also 25 euro (it's a boxed lynx 1, more valuable), so you made 15/ 20 euro.

I guess thats just the price difference from across the water as noted above cause here in Canada you can get a lynx with 4 games for 30 bucks at any given time. Maybe it would be a good idea fro one of you guys to import a bunch from the USA or Canada?

That would be no problem, but I don't know anybody who can supply a big lot of games, and who doesn't care what games. Like 30 chips challenge would be no use, but 30 gordo 106 or casino is a whole other story. And at what price.

But if anybody has some good things (big lot, also Jaguar) on sale, let me know.

Thanks for your help. I didn´t intend to collect for the system, but that doesn´t mean that I won´t if I get it. In fact, If I like the system (and I´m sure I will), I´ll probably collect games for it.

They are pretty rare to find here (almost impossible if it´s not in online stores and the like), but, on the other side, very very few people collect them, making the games cheap (but not the system, strangely). I´ve seen games selling for 10€ complete, and even packs of 2 unopened games for the same price.

PS: Is the Chip´s Challenge cart rare? Is that ridged one. Also, if I use a generic AC power supply, will it damage the system? (just like the Game Gear speakers get damaged?).

Chips Challenge is not rare, the rigid one is less common but still not rare. It's worth 5 bucks at the absolute most.

I think you're getting a good deal. The boxes up the value a little :)

I would pay $20 shipped just for the box you have..... I am serious. If you want to sell the box for your Lynx I will pay $20 shipped.

That goes for anyone who has a nice mint Lynx box, has to be a first gen though :)

You can use a generic AC power supply. Try some that output 9 V DC.

The Atari Times has a very nice game review database. Be sure to check this out before you bid of ebay so you get the kind of games you like. My favorites are Lemmings and Alpine Games. Both cost much more than the system you just got.
