Super-Genius!
Well, after about five months of work, Magicard and Video Life are finished. I only had enough parts to make about 100 of each. You can order them online by going to http://www.sunmark.com Mark
Rob Mitchell
The Cuttle Cart is able to run both Magicard and Video Life. Is there any difference between these emulations and the actual carts? Rob Mitchell, Atlanta, GA
Super-Genius!
There is no difference on the Cuttle Cart. As far as the emulators, in my opinion, they do a fair job with Magicard and Video Life.
Rob Mitchell
Because I have the Cuttle cart .. any possibility of getting the manual and the overlays from you? Rob Mitchell, Atlanta, GA
mvigor
Yes, will those be available separately?
Thomas Jentzsch
Maybe this thread can help.
Rob Mitchell
Yes .. I can find the manual in the archive .. but it is not in a printable form. And I can find the overlay scans .. but they print out twice as big as necessary. How can I resize them to fit the keyboard controllers? Rob Mitchell
Doh! I got the overlays to printout at the proper size .. just after posting my problem. Now I need a printout of the manual .. Any help here? Rob Mitchell, Atlanta, GA
Albert
Now I need a printout of the manual .. Any help here? The photocopied sheets I received were 8 1/2" x 11". These are what I scanned and what you see on AtariAge. So if you print each page at that size, you should end up with results close to what I started with. Having never seen an original Magicard manual, I don't know what size the originals were. They could have been smaller and the person who copied them for me may have blown them up. ..Al
Super-Genius!
The actual size of the manual (new and original) is 5 1/2" x 8 1/2". I have made both the overlays and manual available seperately because it seems a lot of people with Cuttle Cart expressed an interest. http://www.sunmark.com Mark
Rob Mitchell
Thanks Mark .. Thanks Al .. I finally did figure out how to save only the images and not the whole webpage (right click). Rob Mitchell, Atlanta, GA (windows challenged)
Super-Genius!
I am getting a lot of questions on saving the programs. Included is a schematic of an interface you can build that will allow you to save any program you write to a tape recorder. I am in the process of making a "kit" that includes the circuit board and parts so you can easily construct this tape interface. This should be available by the end of the month. Sounds like a good idea, though I wonder if this might also become "only" a collectors item and not used for what it's made for. BTW: Are there any sample sourcecodes available on the web (from the manual or other sources)

Mark, Maybe you should consider setting up a message posting board on your website and also an owners database and allow people to talk with one another about doing work and developing.... just a suggestion. I doubt this will happen. The 2600 alone is a very limited computer, but the extra restrictions of the MagiCard will make programming something real quite impossible and with much limited fun too. But trying out the existing sources from the past, that would be fun.
Super-Genius!
But trying out the existing sources from the past, that would be fun. There is one program that is published in the manual called "Life". I have not typed it in because I do not have the tape interface working yet. It is a long program, so I want to save it after I enter it. That is the only program I know of available for the MagiCard except for the few game programs I wrote a LONG time ago, which I plan to make available. The one good thing the MagiCard does is it helps you learn 6502 programming. You don't have to worry about vertical blanking, checking switch registers, designing character sets....etc. There are subroutines already in place for you so it is very simple! The only thing you have to worry about is the flow of the program.
