Songbird
Yes, I had a hosting glitch (the glitch being I forgot to renew ). It's been resolved, and my site should be active sometime within the next 24 hours.

Gorf
Very strange that they would jump on his domain like that with out some sort of warning...unless ol' Carl let it slip his mind.

Albert
His ISP pounced on him like a hungry jaguar. I am actually hosting the Songbird website, so this thread caught my attention when it was posted. I saw that the domain had lapsed, and had been redirected to the portal site pictured at the beginning of the thread. It's not uncommon for some registrars to do this, although most of the time the domain will simply stop resolving. Glad to see it's back up. ..Al
jaguar_fan
In Germany most likely the domain would be just gone forever - grabbed by one of these domain catchers who just pick up anything they can get to resell it. It´s pretty difficult to get good domain names, nowadays.
Songbird
Well, I knew the domain name was expiring soon, but had never received a single warning email from the company. I'm going to have it set to auto-renew to avoid this problem in the future. And yes, I'm VERY thankful that it was so painless to get it working again.
