Matthias
Hello all, have finally added an example about reading Jaguar CD-track-data on my website, it shows how to read a 320*240 16bit-RGB-graphic from a CD-track directly into a screen-object. There are 3 graphics included in the CD-tracks, use Fire B to load a new one. Kind regards Matthias Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/105680-reading-from-cd/ Share on other sites

Zerosquare
Nice work Matthias ! May I suggest reposting this in the general Jaguar forum, as it seems almost nobody reads the programming forum... Matthias
Hello GT_Turbo! As usual great work Matthias, that can help a lot of people working on CD Games But only if they ignore all those misleading (and german) comments But i think it's obvious that with only some few changes you can turn this little example-program into a menu-program for a demo-CD (which loads demo-programs instead of graphics). Matthias
Hello Zerosquare! Nice work Matthias ! May I suggest reposting this in the general Jaguar forum, as it seems almost nobody reads the programming forum... I didn't want to flood the general Jag-forum with such small-website updates, and the programming sector needs some postings But i admit that i seldomly come down here myself ... Matthias
Hello Gorf! Very good stuff! I iamgine the code can be altered to load other data as well? Of course, reading uncompressed pictures into a visible screen-object was just an easy way to show how fast reading from CD can be and to give the user immediate feedback. Kind regards Matthias It's too bad CD units are a smaller number in the Jag fan world. It would make cost of game a lot less.
