Australian Collectors - Action Hi-Tech?

Alex

Recommended Posts

Can any Australian residents or collectors shed some more light on Action Hi-Tech? This was supposedly a line of games sold in Australia. Based on some lists I've seen, they probably sold some of the titles included here:

Unknown Games

Can anyone confirm any Action Hi-Tech titles? We'd really like to see some boxes, since this label style was apparently used by a number of bootleg companies.

Hi Alex,

Action Hi Tech released pirated games under their Hi-Score label. I know of the following titles:

Aussie Rally (Enduro)

Bank Heist (Bank Heist)

Beasties (Catch Time)

Chess (Video Chess)

Condor Attack (Condor Attack)

Cosmic Free Fire (Assault)

Crab Control (Boom Bang)

Dragon Attack (Dragon Defender)

F-18 Vs. Aliens (Flash Gordon)

Galaxy Invader (Worm War I)

Learning Spelling (Basic Math)

Ocean City (Curtiss)

Pac Kong (Pac Kong)

Panda Rescue (Panda Chase)

River Battle (Bermuda)

Ski Dodge'm (Ski Hunt)

Space Grid (Turmoil)

Spaidder Fight (Spider Fighter)

Surround'em (Surround)

Tank City (Thunderground)

War Zone (M.A.S.H)

There are at least three types of labels: pirate cave, flying saucers, and saturn rings. There may be a fourth, made up of a grid of 4 pics, but that one hasn't been found in a box yet.

They all come in generic blue boxes, with a sticker indicating the name of the game. You can find an example here.

Cheers,

Marco

Heheh sorry Marco. I care! :) I saw the boxes, and we'll be adding a company entry for them as well as moving a few of our "Unknowns" over to that section.

How do most people refer to them - as Action Hi-Tech, or Hi-Score like is on the box? Hmmm.

Anyone have any pics of the other boxes?

I just wanted to clarify something that Marco said - that Hi-Score games come in generic blue boxes with a sticker indicating the name of the game.

The Hi-Score games that he linked to say Hi-Score and don't have a sticker.

I have one boxed game that is like what Marco describes (blue with a sticker) - http://www.blackshoals.net/~weaselbrains/i.../images/box.jpg but this box is clearly different to the Hi-Score boxes that Marco linked to.

Here's a picture of the cart and a picture of it next to a Hi-Score cart to show the different fonts used on the end labels.

Another thing is that I'm pretty sure I've seen boxed Hi-Score carts before on eBay with v-shaped cases - can someone confirm this? (Marco maybe).

I'm sure I've only made things more confusing now.

Here's a photo of my Hi-Score and similar looking games -
